just a post of the car and its history really, might be of interest in progression.
The car is a R32, was bought and we presumed an RB20 block... missfired and engine didnt run right to start so we did the usuals and changed the fuel filter, plugs and put a wasted spark kit on it to rid of the coil packs. this sorted the running problems and then we went to the nurburgring, this however blew the headgasket... we didnt know this till home though as other than over heating no hg symptoms showed, we tried running with no thermostat to keep water pemanantly open, over heating still happend, just took longer. we limped it home 500miles and took the head off to find the hg mullered and the number 1 cylinder full of water how the hell it made it home under own steam il never know. so then we found the engine had forged interals and was a bored out RB25 block.. bonus!. so i set to changing the rb20 turbo for an rb25turbo that we had, walbro fuel pump, tein superstreet coilovers, a blitz induction, and our FMIC conversion. The subframe was dropped, suspension bushes changed etc. well here more detailed, we got the car back from germany and whipped the head off, cylinder 1 full of water... not good, turned out to be head gasket failure so we sent the head off for skimming. dead car.. Under the head was when we realised the car wasnt what we first thought it was... forged pistons, conrods and and bored out rb25 block! once the head came back we had done some alterations: FMIC conversion a new downpipe fixed the broken hanger on the rear silencer gutted the cat fitted a new walbro pump a new fuel tank new EBC discs and yellow stuff pads an RB25 turbo Full set of DEFI gauges, Oil temp, Oil pressure , Water temp and Boost pressure, all recordable so we knew what the engine was doing. Removed all the hicas rear steering pipes and weilded up the pump so no leaks and locked out the bar. the head came back and we put it all back together, ran it slow for a while as we had boost spike issues, this turned out to be that the wastegate path was too narrow and was causing massive boost spikes to 1.8bar! back to the standard turbo elbow and this solved the problems. The changes ended for the time being as work for me became too busy. a drift /sprint day we organised then ensued and the car had its first real outing, and it ran a dream in which it went all day without missing a beat, same said for my gt4 bar me oversteering into a near by field. haha THis brought about the start of the bodywork. So i set to sanding back the old paintwork as i wanted to re-spray the car from a blank canvas so to speak. To start we needed to rid the car of the rust over the rear wheel arches, there was a massive amount! As we are putting wide arches on the the rear we cut the arches very high to make sure all rust was gone in preparation for priming and painting. i let Jo loose with the grinder to his car! front and rear awaiting parts for my da sander i made best with what i had So we set with the sander and off i went.. removing the bumper im sanding.... and jo.. well, sitting in a chair! :lol considering its his car... lazy bugger remember... no drinking at work... unless its on a friends car or your own.. then its ok. :lol a few hours at work.. but we are getting there after sorting out the big triple sized garage for my spray booth the work again has started on the skyline, so this weekend i spent the time spraying some parts on the evo and the liner together, just primering stage at the moment but its all coming together well, heres the pictures. the liner with new wide arches blended and filler primered, also starting to primer with the real proper primer prepped for painting so on she goes.. rear quarter nicely primered up and smooth as anything passenger side.. the bottom of the door isnt primered yet as i have to do some work on it yet and shall be removing the wing mirror next week too.. alot of work left on the drivers side to do... new wings need blending in as you can see, i need to make up a new bracket for the fuel cap or make a new fuel cap totally as the new arches litterally are 3 inches to 4 inches wider than standard! so next weeks jobs on the liner are as follows, finish the whole car in primer and get the rear quarted smoothed and blended in to the car ready for primer. also cracked on with the evo gsr spoiler while doing the liner as i have got a fair bit of work to do on an evo too.. sprayed spoler in parts but just to show the primered look i put it back in situe unbolted.. but the liner is FINALLY getting to make shape, i shall post more pics up this weekend when i set back to work on it! when finished it shall be a "blurple" colour as my friend calls it, or thats the colour he wants me to re-spray it anyway, so i will just do as he wants but so far, the progress is as above, more this weekend! from a bag of nails to a lovely car we are hoping, well i know it will look nice but being a datsun, who knows how long it will last. anyhow, cheers dale -------------------- 1994 ST-205 JDM GTFour... fmic conversion finshed, project GT500 is underway

well been down to do some more work today, the skylines now looking as follows, going back tomorrow to do some more bits.
so far we are at this stage geting the roof done too need to go over again tomorrow but we shall see as i think i will crack on with the evo tomorrow and leave the liner. got 2 base coats down on the evo spoiler, doing the skirts tomorrow. update on the liner... the do luck body kit had been picked up and fitted it the other day.. genuine front bumper, genuine rear and copy side skirts i think primer grey and white suit it! :lol some more pics of the liner after fitting the new tein super streets.. before after love the skyline down low, just needs the spacers putting back on the rear to push the wheels out to the arches, will be getting the colour on next weekend as we finally decided on a colour! ) blue / purple so my friend calls it blurple, with a pearl to it, should be good. -------------------- 1994 ST-205 JDM GTFour... fmic conversion finshed, project GT500 is underway

heers guys,thanks for the comments!
i started up my own weekend spray shop so its all going well, and the car looks stunning in the flesh, i thoughtid hate it as i dont really care for skylines anyway but i love it, maybe its because i built the car but i think its awesome! only problem is like you said, too low is an understatement, i could literally JUST get my shoe under the bumper if i forced it so it was like 2 inches tops off the floor, so we have raised it alittle as it isnt worth destroying a genuine do luck bumper, so its a little higher, i still think should be more though but it is jos car This post has been edited by mrgt4: Mar 26, 2010 - 4:51 AM -------------------- 1994 ST-205 JDM GTFour... fmic conversion finshed, project GT500 is underway

Personally, I would have liked to see this car in original form, just painted, or maybe with some Nissan aftermarket parts. I'm not a fan of the kit. But still, it's a Skyline...and that's pretty damn awesome.
Good luck with this project. -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]
