I've been reading up on them and voltage stabilizers slightly increase hp and torque, smooth out idle speed, among other things and they seem to work.

I'm looking at 2 brands: Sun Auto and Buddy Club.

From the tests, Sun Auto has the highest hp/torque increase (like 1.5... lol), But you don't really see very much through the powerband. However with the Buddy Club, it showed an increase in power, although not as much as the Sun Auto, but it actually increased lower end hp and torque by a very decent amount.
I'm almost certain that they're universal, but I may be wrong.

I was wondering if any of you knowledgable guys would have any opinions or answers.

i had a buddy club one on my srt4 and loved it. with it having the built in voltage stabilizer, i noticed a little smoother idle, smoother throttle response, and when i would turn my stock stereo up, the lights of the clock wouldn't pulsate like they did before putting it in the car. if you got the money and want to invest in a grounding kit, personally i'd say buddy club.

Yeah I was leaning towards Buddy Club since it has the low power band increase and with my 7A, that's where all the power is, so why not build on that? Haha. Now I just need $150... ha

Sure Cyprus. I didn't read it on the internet. I got it from the October issue of Import Tuner. I'll try to scan the pages to see if they come out well enough. If so, I'll post them on this thread. They tested the VS's on a KA24DE, but results should be similar on any motor.

Okay here's the official literature that I got my info from. Sorry for page 1 not being vertical. No matter what I did, it would keep reverting back to horizontal.

That's great man! I'll be ordering a Buddy Club stabilizer soon. I love the fact that I'll be gaining nice low end power

I might do the same. I notice that my interior lights dim when I turn on my head lights.

I'm curious if you went with the sun auto and just added beefier grounds at all the stock locations and maybe a few others? I am not sure, but I'm assuming all the extra wires on the buddy club are just better grounds for the system. Why not take that idea from buddy club and mix it with the sun auto. Might be able to sneak away with the benefits of both? A little more hp at the bottom of the curve and that pony or two and torque at the top end?

it makes sense that that could contribute to it. The section above mentions that the buddy club one has extra grounds. We also know that better grounds throughout make a few hp here and there if your current grounds are not adequate. So it makes sense that the grounds gave a few of those gains. Therefore the Sun auto with a set of better grounds in the car might be the best option.

I'd like to see the data of a run with the Buddy club, but only the voltage stabilizer hooked up with none of those spare grounds attached. That would prove me right or wrong very quickly.

Reading further... also the Sun Auto is stated to have the thickest wire gauge for all of the stabilizers. I am curious if this effected it as well.

If it were me, I would go with the Sun Auto and then make my own aftermarket grounding wires for the car (as opposed to buying a kit). I feel like his would add the most for a system like this.

^ Sun Auto ground kit.. just incase someone wanted to look it up
