I'm going to be getting an engine stand and I was wondering if a 750lb stand would be suitable for the 5s engine. I've looked around for the weight of the 5s, but I didn't find anything.

Begin least helpful post ever.
I have a 5S sitting in my garage without the s54 bolted to it. Although I can't just pick it up and carry it around, I can move it easily enough. I'm 145 lbs. so I can't see myself moving anything that weighs more than 750 lbs. with any ease. My guess is that a 750 lb. engine stand would do the job, but I can't be for sure. / least helpful post ever. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. Yea bro that's plenty, I'm 180lbs and my friend is about the same and we could pick the 5s up and tote it around with ease. It weighs like maybe a little over 200, maybe. It isn't heavy. So like Stephen said 750 is plenty. Not sure if you have a harbor freight, but the one here is having a sale, it's a cherry picker and engine stand for like 150-300$ depending on how much weight you need it to hold. Even ones with a 2 ton jack.

There is a stand from advanceauto that is $70 and can hold 750lbs
I might need an engine lift, but I'm going to see if I can borrow my neighbors first Edit: Screw advance, harbor freight is wayyy cheaper lol This post has been edited by mkernz22: Sep 24, 2010 - 7:24 AM |
