hi. im new here but im really excited to see a forums specifically for my gen celica! but i know, if u guys care ull check my profile. so on to my question.

long story short, bought a 95 celica gt with engine trouble. dug into the engine, the #2 cylinder's holding rod bearing was shot. dont worry, it only ran for a few seconds before the guy pulled over. so there shouldnt be any scoring or scratches. so, we replaced the holding rod bearings, and oil pump. we button it all back up, and start the car for the first time. it runs! but... theres a knock. the knock is mechanical, because it is at the same pace as the rpm. me and my dad seem to think it is either the #2 cylinder's wrist pin, a valve, or a valve spring. we plan on pulling and rebuilding the engine if necessary.

any advice? diagnosis, or help with rebuilding the engine would be very helpful.

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road.

Celica: The name is derived from the Spanish word for "heavenly" or "celestial".
