First it was the chrome gas cap that came with the gas lid. It was perfect until I started to hear hissing noises coming from the cap after a 30min drive, each and everytime. I pm'd him about it and he said give it time as it's still new. Sadly it didnt solve so i used my stock cap. I only use the chrome cap during car shows and meets.

How I came to recognizing the problem?
After my daily commute I smelled gas and heard hissing noises coming from my cap. Then noticed my gas mileage dropped significantly. The noise is heard everytime the car was just turned off. Its like when you go to fill up gas and when you uncap the cap you get that HISSSSS noise from the back pressure.

Second problem due to a faulty design,

First occurance is by Herosblade. The spring mechanism to pop the lid after the lid switch is hit BROKE!
Pretty much you pull the lever and your gas lid doesn't open. This is BAD! when you're by yourself and you don't have an extra hand and NEED GAS!

This JUST happened to me as is the WORST feeling in the world when your gas light is on. You can't get the lid open, you're at the pumps that very moment and your house is 45mins away frown.gif

Temporary solution.....wedge something between the lid and the rear qaurter fender, pop the gas lever, and quickly catch the gas lid before it drops back into place T__T OR you can ask someone to pop the lever when you have your fingers pulling on the gas lid.

I don't know how it broke in the first place as Im very careful with everything installed on the car except my coils wink.gif

SOLUTION!!!

DO THIS BEFORE IT HAPPENS
Simply get spring, mix some epoxy, and do as the pic is biggrin.gif Problem solved. You will never be stuck at the pumps trying to get the damn lid open.

I still haven't solved the gas lid problem, both Herosblade and I have taken off the chrome lid when daily driving our car. WE DO still use the chrome cap on special occasions.

Regarding the chrome cap issue, is the plastic O Ring still in place?
I don't mind to send you another chrome cap, if still encounter the same issue.
Simply click here and find the one near ya

The "Spring" on mine also broken, as no self-serve Gas station here in Hong Kong; I couldn't feel your pain.

I admitted that fragile "Spring" have room for improvement
Seems your modified Spring work way better than the one that supplier design.

had to fix mine again, when i popped it it would not open, ended up being the metal rod that it swivels on rusted so bad it wouldnt open, took it apart, sanded and lubed it, seems to work better.
wish my stock cap wasnt broken, i would go back to it
