Is it possible to take a camry's 3.0 liter v-6 and put it into a 6g celica gt?
The base model camry 1997-2001 comes with the celica's 2.2 liter, so i don't think size would be an issue. -------------------- my signature is the coolest.
give me your celica. |

well no it's not impossible.. turbo magazine did that swap on and mr2.. but that would be nice to see on a 6gc... thank about it is might be a simpler swap then doing a JDM simply cause getting all the parts needed would be easier... cause does anyone not know were they can't get a camary from?

It's been done in an MR2 that was formerly 5S-FE-powered, and it's been discussed a few times here, but none of us have seen the Camry's V6(1MZ-FE isn't it?) in a Celica. It could be done, it would just require quite a bit of work to custom mount that engine in the car.

A 1mfze was put in a 5th gen celica from a '99 Solara.
Here's the URL: http://celica.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?u...c;f=31;t=004637 I'd think that this swap would give you a chance for more power considering there is a supercharger for the 1mfze that will take it up to about 240-250 horsepower if I remember correctly. Not to mention the fact that there are plenty of V6 Camry's in the US from which to get parts and that the car will be completely legal since its a US motor. |

The 2004 RAV4 has a 2AZ-FE:
2.4 litre compression ratio: 9.6:1 161 hp @5700 165 ft*lbs @ 4000 I was thinking that it would make a great winter car, then slap on a low pressure turbo... mmmm.... |

It's not built off of the "A" series block. It's a new block series... properly entitled "AZ".... There will be fitment problems. The 1MZFE is too tall... say a few inches too tall for the celica's engine bay, assuming you properly mount it. |
