What's up guys?

I asked Culp about this already and he advised me that it is probably the spark plugs, wires, etc. But I thought I'd ask around, even though he is a veteran at Celica problems. I have a 94 GT with a swapped 3rd gen 3SGTE, FMIC, Greddy Boost Controller, HKS BOV, and 3 inch piping with a Apexi exhaust. Not sure if all this is relevant, just thought I'd let you guys know my setup in case any of these things has to do with the problem. I usually don't drive my car hard, but the other day I tried to red line it and when I reached about 5k, the engine started to struggle to get higher. When I punched it, it pulled HARD. But when I reached 5k it wasn't pulling so hard again. Any suggestions on what may be causing this? I didn't check to see if the boost was still hitting hard, but I doubt this is a turbo problem. Thanks in advanced for any help!

how much boost are you running?

prolly worn ignition components as stevenson suggested.

I'm currently running 10lbs. Axel04 told me that stock boost for a 3S is 13lbs, can anyone confirm this? I guess changing the ignition components is what I'll be doing this weekend then.

Yes 13 is stock. You can even safely set it to 15psi and drive around like that all day long without any problems.

Thanks Lagos. This may be a dumb question but if you have the boost set lower, would it save on the gas mileage? I would think so, but just to know for sure.

depends on how you drive. If you floor it everywhere then yes because your car will be making less power and using less gas.

as long as you drive responsably you will get good MPG out of this engine, I mean considering the power it has and such.

on a regular week I get pretty close to 30 MPG driving to work ( 90 miles round trip ) I'm currently running 17 psi, I can get as low as 18 MPG when enjoying the car on weekends. so it's all on your driving.

Sounds good! Thanks Culp. Yea, I don't really punch it too much. If I do, it's on the rarest of occasions. Thanks for all the info guys!
