Has anyone on here used or heard any reviews about them?
Just looking for a semi-cheap fix to lower my car in the spring cause I don't want to get a full coilover setup just to lower it.
That'll happen when I'm in college, or after.

I know member 97celiman had those Tanabes paired with KYB GR2's and he liked them.

awesome fit man I'm telling you!! I love em on my celica. Absorb bumps really good I have kyb gr2 in the rear and blisten shocks up front with tanabe df210. Pretty good drop as well.

there are three different tanabe springs (different rates and lowering). See this topic: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=45578 . I had GF210s on my car few years ago and can not say even single bad word on them. See this topic: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=48069

I've just ordered these yesterday, hopefully I'll get them by the end of the month. I'll take some pictures of the springs and the car before & after, plus some first impressions.
I'm already using Koni Yellow's, top adjustable, so the DF210's softness won't be a problem, I hope...
Also, I have some friends who own Hondas and they worship Tanabe and everything they manufacture.

Only thing is I'm not getting new struts for my car. The fronts were replaced maybe a little over 3 years ago. So between 15k to 25k ago because the car wasn't driven a whole bunch. The rears, I'm not sure if they were replaced, but they feel good right now.

If you lower a car on stock struts, they'll go bad faster since they were only designed by manufacturer to be as high as the stock springs. If I were you, I'd hold off on the Tanabes until you have enough money for Koni or KYB GR2 struts.

If you get ones with a stiffer spring rate, they shouldn't go bad as fast, right?
There's no point in me buying new struts when they cost about what? like $100 to $150 a piece?
Times that by 4 and you get $400 to $600 and then about $180 for the springs and that would be between $580 and $780.
For that price, I'd rather save up the extra few hundred and get a full coilover setup

I've seen the KYB GR2s for as low as $50-55 a piece.

But that's exactly what I'm doing. I don't want to waste my time with the $400-500 for struts and springs when I can save up twice as much and be the COMPLETE ALMIGHTy MASTER OF ADJUSTABILITY. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!! >:D

....lol. But seriously, that's what I'm doing.

the only engine thing im doing is the tranny swap. im just scrapping the idea of even rebuilding the other engine. im keeping the block and some stuff, but im going to try to sell some of it.

for me it's tranny swap, exterior, suspension, and then after college will be all the good stuff haha

Your struts WILL go bad. There's no question about it. With aftermarket lowering springs, your struts will be blown inside of two months, probably sooner. Struts that aren't blown aren't essential to driving your car, but you wouldn't change your oil without changing the oil filter, would you? Do it all at once.

I love my MEGAN RACING COILOVERS purchased from upscaleauto here on this site. smile.gif adjustable damper and height, over 9000 times greater handling..i love it. Coilovers are lighter than shocks and springs too. smile.gif

Not true. I've had my car lowered for more than two months on Tein S-tech's and stock springs and my struts aren't blown. Dunno how long its been but its been more than two months.
They will go bad. But it may take more than 2 months

Lol I'm a little confused by this statement... I think it might have been a typo. But you're totally right, I missed the part earlier where Mike said he replaced his struts. I assumed they were the original struts when I typed that. So yeah, Mike, you've got more than two months. Excuse my prior negativity. Your struts will definitely go bad; there's no question about that. It depends on driving style, road conditions, miles driven, etc. In my case, my struts blew virtually immediately because I was using the original struts, 10 years old, and I do entirely too many miles. In your case, since I seriously doubt if you're driving as many miles as I am and since you have newer struts than I did, yours will last longer than the whole day that mine lasted.
