I already have HIDs installed on my car. 8000K. I noticed the driver's side one is becoming a tad more yellow than whitish-blue. What could that be? And if the bulb is going bad, can I just straight replace it with another 8000K bulb since I have ballasts installed already?

Probably caused by Jesus hating you for installing cheap HIDs into a frosted halogen housing....

Or because you bought a cheap HID kit.... But I liked the sound of the whole, "Jesus hating you" bit.

Nononono they were installed before I bought the car, so it's implied hate, yes?

Because that will get away from cheap HIDs rolleyes.gif

Yea just change the bulb, or better yet swap the bulbs to make sure its just the bulb.

true solution
step one: get jdm projectors
step two: go to a junkyard and pull the HIDs out of a lexus
step three: install said items.

Step one will come eventually. I just don't have the money to blow on projectors right now.

But aren't the jdm projectors not designed for hids anyway? Wouldn't u technically have to do a retrofit?

technically yes, but the projectors are way more ready for focusing the light than reflector housings

DDM makes GREAT HID's.

I have them in my car, for over a year now and have never had a problem, no dis-coloring or fading of the bulbs, and they are great.

I highly recomend them to everyone on the site. The BMW guys swear by them. And for 45 shipped you can't beat it.

bringing this back from the dead.

contemplating buying from DDM Tuning. Can anyone back up the quality of the product for the price? I know a few have already ^
my friend just bought some from a local place and we installed them in his mustang today. he paid $240 for them (low/high combo, and fogs), and they look exactly the same as the DDM ones. I'd rather not pay $300 for all 3 sets I need lol so if ddm tuning is worth it, I'd rather pay $127 shipped.

Just get the DDM kit. Lifetime warranty, what could go wrong? I've heard they defend their warranty to the death as well, and most customers only need replacements because they wrecked their cars.

Why would you use HIDs out of a lexus instead of new HIDs with warranty?
I installed HID's in low- and highbeams and in the foglights and never had any problems with it. (2 years ago)

OEM ballasts are better. That's the only reason I would do it.

Still rocking my DDM tuning kit. Over a year old now and not one problem. I am looking at buying the 5K bulbs and replacing my 6K ones, because the 55W 6K is a bit too blue for me. Light output is great, though.

Still, you will not see the same performance and quality by installing HID lights in frosted halogen housings. You'll just piss people off and blind other drivers. Do it right and install them in PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS.

for 1, I can't afford projectors. but i do understand the part about blinding people. I might buy those clear covers someone is selling on here and swap them onto my other set of headlights. not sure though. I'm just sick of my light color.
