Hi
Upon accelerating, or being at low revs in first and second; there is a creaking/groaning sound coming from the central/passenger side of the car (left hand side) I've searched through the forums but there doesn't seem to be much that's exactly like this, I did a test by pushing down on the suspension and there was no noise, it's only when I'm releasing the clutch in first and second. Any advice or help would be amazing John |

Hmm.... sounds a bit weird, but as u said if it disappeared after u played with the suspension, i guess u found the problem already. Just try to take a good look at it and find if there`s anything broken or so. This post has been edited by simondejazmach: Feb 16, 2011 - 2:57 PM |

I didn't change the suspension, I just pushed down on the front wing/fender (whatever you wanna call it!) and there was no noise apparent, it's only happening when I'm dropping the clutch out

Hiya John. What type off car it that you have? Suspension's? I did a quick search off the web and found this ( http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-prius-c...ion-06-a-3.html ) I know my borther had a problem on his 200sx. But that was an old support bushing that was worn out in the front. Could not hear it when the car was standing still. Only when driving the car the sound could be detected.
Maby you should take a look at the left side and see if you find anything there. |

Check the tightness of the strut bolts.

Sounds clutch related, does it happen in gear when you don't have your foot near the clutch?
My mums car just got the clutch done and it makes a few weird noises when you are at the friction point, sometimes they make a bit of noise, especially when they are new. |

is it a rotational noise or a one off noise?
examples of rotational noise - wheels toe-in misaligned, shot wheelbearings or one off noise like suspension knock from a broken ball joint, engine knock from busted front/rear engine mount bushes -------------------- Mike W

so this just started happening with my car. whenever i turn, my passenger side makes a creaking sound. i thought it might just be the spring moving, but i'm guessing from the post above that its the wheel bearing? it doesn't do it all the time, just when im turning at slow speeds (and not all the time either)
