Excuse the making of this thread, but I just had to do it. Is it me or is KiD CuDi a universal sound?

I don't think any style of music or specific artist is a universal sound.

Nah, you want a universal sound? Disney's "It's a Small World After All". They had animatronic kids from all over the world singing that and reppin' their country. Very Gangsta! (kidding, right?)
On a side note... The majority of the stuff played on the radio is garbage and anyone can have a record deal. There was a time it wasn't like that, if you were good, you were heard. If not, then you were just stuck making mix tapes for yo girl with you singing over the tape... Personally I like the the instrumental mostly and the lyrics are decent but not earth-shattering. I've heard better to be completely honest but either way music is something too personal and intrinsic to be "universal" other than the concept that most people like some form of it.

Yea I think I just misused the word. Maybe not Universal, more so I meant, it could be reached out to more then just one crowd of people. And you guys can beg to differ but around here anyway, where I live I have a bunch of pals who are into rock , soul, reggae, and other kinds of music who actually don't find him that bad. They can actually tune into a few of his tracks and some what enjoy it. That was more of my point. None of that gun talk , yea its hip hop /rap or w.e but its a song unlike others that just talk about the same **** in all their tracks. I don't know if I'm making my point here
 lol. Universal is more so Micheal Jackson, am I not wrong? |
