Hi! I was wondering if any of you guys have this problem before. The other day, i noticed that my oil sign warning was on everytime i put the ignition in on. so i went and checked my oil lvl and found out it was less than 1/4 . I immediatly added a quart of oil hoping that it will go away. But when i went to work the next day it was still there. So i just did an oil change, and the oil lamp sign is still there. does anyone know what i have to do? or do you think there are other problems?

Is it on while you are driving, or just when you have the ignition set to "ON"?

thats normal dude, the engine is not running, meaning the oil pump is not turning, meaning no oil pressure. once you start the car, the pump turns, thus making oil pressure, hence the light turns off

Yes when you turn the key to on all the lights light up so you can make sure they are not burned out.
If you are driving and one comes on that is a different story.

But it sounds like you still need to keep an eye on your oil consumption.

Hmm.... how did u end up with only 1/4th in the first place, try checking for leaks. But as u said if the oil levels are ok now and the light is still on it might just be a defective sensor, lets hope it is.
I have the same thing, but mine is with the check engine light. I think it might be the ram air intake i put, it might be miss reading the air flow.
Just take your time and try to observe whats wrong with it. smile.gif
