Out of pure curiousity why would you want to do this? Not to dog on your idea or anything, but TMIC is less practical when compared to FMIC

that's not necessarily true. if it was, why would toyota put top mounts on all their motors? such as the GZE, and the 3s...when used properly with a hood scoop and heat dispersion vents, a TMIC can be much more effective than a FMIC...reason being is because there is relatively NO piping, therefore, very minimal loss of boost pressure. also, when upgraded with somethin like an ARC top mount, it really is a hell of a lot more practical to use a top mount. front mounts just look cooler. tongue.gif. i wanna do a top mount on my GZE, but for the tiem being i'm doing a front mount, only because i don't know how i want to incorporate a hood scoop into my hood, and also, i wanna get my hands on that ARC TMIC....

anyway, i seriously doubt a TMIC will fit on the 5sfe without some nice modifications to the hood, and as far as i know, no one has done that yet...

yup, most people still take it to the front though. TMIC soaks up a lot of engine heat (heat rises)

Running less piping turbo--> FMIC---> TB cerates some lag though. You get better boost responce from the TMIC but will get some heat soak also.

The 5sfe head is way to narrow to fit the TMIC, the TB is in the wrong direction (Iknow you know this reading your other post wink.gif ) And I think the 5afe sits to high to even fit the IC in there without hitting the hood.

FMIC with a max or 2.5" piping will do you good on both the 5sfe and the 3sgte.

that's why i said with an effective use of a hood scoop to the IC, and heat dispersion vents to let heat out...much like on the all-trac hood...wink.gif.

the GT-FOUR uses a water/air intercooler. all of the vents on the GT-FOURs hood are to let heat out. the water/air ic has something that's much like a radiator up front, and that's how the water in the IC is cooled...same thing on the CS RC 5th gen.

My 3SGTE is in my engine bay (...still doing the wiring) and i put my GT4 hood on, and

JUST TO TELL YOU GUYS WHO HAVEN"T REALLY SEEN IT IN PERSON

IT is a HOOD VENT and not a SCOOP.

PLUS to jmastaniza the vent does not go over the TMIC it is below it over the turbo and turbo manifold. The vent is probably to disperse all the heat that the turbo causes.

yeah i am sticking with my TMIC, but for FMIC.....rocks hitting it, you could put a grill, and there are some other stuff that protects it, plus the cores are usually pretty protected
