keywords "funds are low"
sorry any power increase is about 50 usd per 1 hp increase on average.. (swapping engines) or maybe 25 usd per 1 hp if you tweak it around. My beams cost me 4000, increasing 60 hp 66 usd per hp. going from 135 to 197.. meaning increase in what u have.. a cheap turbo kit can run u around 2500 to 3000, giving u 100 to 130 hp increase. so around 25usd/hp on average so you want to beat hondas.. 1. fork up some money 2. Get a honda. Sorry, celicas are not cheap to tune. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I hardly log in anymore, last login Today Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOL
If you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. Im alive, better post your questions in the thread below, maybe I log back in 2grfe Swapped... Why I chose the 2GR, before you ask read here... A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within. @llamaraxing in Instagram is the best way to find me. I hardly log here anymore. |

^what he said.
and furthermore, if youre worried about those jackasses that run up and down woodhaven blvd. and crossbay blvd, and be racing on the belt parkway screw them, theyre jackasses anyway. you WILL wind up messing your celica up tryin to run on the belt as bad as those roads are.... (im from the area, used to live on linden and 113st by aqueduct) and i went to Adams H.S. before i went to n.c. -------------------- |

Yea bro, I run an 97 ST myself. I have done soo much research on performance upgrades. But the only thing that works is to do an engine hybrid or complete swap. Both of which are quite pricey. I gave up on speed for my car at least till I can afford an engine swap. But just be cool with that fact that your car isn't a Honda. There are too many of them out there.

i had ao 1990 celica st in the states before i went to korea. i bought it as a shell and had the engine imported from japan same engine 4afe. i put some major work into it, header, full exhaust, centerforce stage 3 clutch, custom made intake, full msd ignition. it was quick as light as it was and handled amazing. there was a local parts company that me and a couple friends worked for in his warehouse and he gave us parts. i got a set of civic adjustable coil sleeves. that was one of the best handling cars ive driven it was weird. any way my brother had a vtec civic and the only reason he could beat me was because he had an extra 1000rpm redline. by the time i shifted he was pulling away, but the second we hit some turns i had him by along shot. be proud of what you got and make it work for you. most of it is the driver any way learn your cars strengths and you will be set. and then save your money for a swap lol. like everyone else has said 4age, 4age 20v(this is going in mine when i get back to the states), or a 3s.

thanks for all the comments appreciate the support i will probably save up for a turbo or a swap i have to admit the celica is pretty quick with the upgrades i have done so far i have whipped some honda ass with it but pretty much stock v-tec or intake exhaust type ones its close tho traffic light to traffic light i still have an msd 6al-2 to install and my fuel pressure regulator but i need new tires they are bald which is killing me off the start. but i gotta say the venom 400 is awesome its almost like having a vtec it kicks in on my mid range as soon as i slam the gas it engages to cool i cant wait until everything is in and the car is running 100% i have to change my battery, valve seals, exhaust leak, and new tires to get until then. btw i love my celica my second one i had a 93 celica 2.2 5sfe engine and that car really whipped ass. just looking to get this running like my old one. celica for life.

Pffft, how about I go there with my GT4 and kick their sorry butt? Now they'll be the ones tucking their tails between their legs! They laugh at your Celica when they drive sardine cans?
Seriously...consider yourself happy you're not at a low level like them...anyone can get a civic and swap some H22a or type-R engines and consider it a race car...I've read in someone's signature today: got rid of the little c (civic) to change for the big © celica Remember, your car is what you drive, enjoy it...and don't lower yourself to some idiots edit: another thing, my daily drive car is a mazdaspeed protege...they all want to race against me...but when I ride the celica, they stay calm...I'm from a small town and everyone know each other. Even Skylines, when I drive my Celica, they pass by me very quick, I drive my car to enjoy the ride...not to race those idiots! At the end, my car will still be in good shape while theirs while be draining/smoking/consuming or ejaculating oil from everywhere This post has been edited by TheChildOfTheSea: Apr 21, 2011 - 9:02 PM |
