Raleigh, North Carolina Car Meet Version 2, Planning for the August meet in Charlotte! Options

Seems like us Celica owners are few and far between. I wanted to see if the North Carolina guys/gals would be interested in a Celica meet at some point. Looking for some fellow enthusiasts!

There's a few NC people around that I'm sure will be down. Just don't expect a huge turn out. Last time in NC I went, there were 5 of us 6gcers, 4 cars, one member in from Cali without her car. It was fun though. Dan's not too far out though, so if you get something planned ahead, you might be able to turn it into a lot of fun. Let it get more interest and look around the forums and hit people up to look at this thread.
If all else fails, drive to Winston by Baptist hospital. Guaranteed you'll see/meet at least a few 6gc owners. None that are on here though. Hit me up if this starts developing.
Theres 1 in Gboro I know of, 1 near Winston, 3 in Charlotte/Concord/Kanapolis, 2 in Raleigh, 1 in Durham, and a few others spread out across the state.

That's a good question. I live in raleigh so anytime is good for me, but I know wilmington, charlotte, and fayetteville are all around a 2 hour drive. So let's leave the meet time up to those folks.

Yea dude, we will def give you a call! I've probably seen you around before. I've seen a few celica's in the area...not sure if they are on this site, but I think there are only 2 green ones (one of which is mine) a few reds, a few silvers, and a black or 2. Pretty rare around the area.

For better turnout you might consider posting on celicatech.com, alltrac.net, maybe mr2oc.com. Get together everyone with similar engines and chassis, you can learn a lot from other car guys working with similar components to you. I had put together a list of everyone I could find on all these boards that were in NC and came up with almost 40 screen names. If you could get everyone on that to show it would e a great meet.

I started to put one together 2 years ago but interest was low. I had thought to meet at Frankie's in Raleigh, on 70 by Briar creek. Fun stuff to do for everyone and there is autobell in the parking lot where I'll bet you could work out a group discount. Everyone would want their rides looking their best when showing off for everyone. There is a ton of food within a mile as Briar creek has basically anything you could think of.

that being said I would love to come but it looks like I will be busy on such short notice. Put together another one later in the summer so people have time to plan.

As a group you should also consider attending the Celicatech.com annual meetup that happens at the NC/TN border every year when we run the tail of the dragon as a group. It is in May, less than a month away. there are Celicas from all gens there, from old school all the way to 7th gen, some MR2s show up as well. read this http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthrea...tech-Dragon-Run

If someone is genuinely interested in setting up a NC Celica or NC toyota motorsports club that would have some regular meetups/events let me know, I would like to participate in organizing something like that
