New: Do I need ALL the GT mounts to swap into an ST? Or tell me which ones I will need
Will be using the GT transmission. I can get the cables, but are the shifters the same? or do I need one from a GT? thanks Thanks just need to know what to buy Ok so I bought Jims alltrac 3sgte, that manny installed, and did all the work to (timing belt, seals, ect.) so all thats already done for me (yeah i got super lucky ![]() It comes with an ACT 6 puck clutch installed. I was debating on the e153 trans, but have decided to go with the stock GT trans, just to get it done sooner. maybe Ill go that route later. not to sure about the ST trans.. idk if people have used them but to me, it doesnt seem like a good idea. i think your better off buyin the GT trans lol. as for the "custom" part, that would be your clutch, its called a "hybrid" clutch because you need the 5s disc and the 3s flywheel and pressure plate.

no no im going to use the s54 trans (sorry my post was prob confusing, Im just most likely using an ST shell). So as long as I have the 5s tranni and the 3s flywheel, im good? For some reason I thought there was something else

you need a 3S pressure plate with a 5S disk. Southbend clutch can also make you a 3S clutch set with the 5S-FE splines in the hub of the disk. all you have to do to install is follow the 3S-GTE in an ST guide. you need to drill and tap the holes in the frame to support the engine mounts

Get a s54 stage 2+ disk, everyone around here swears by the s54 splined 3sgte disk but its literally only like a 1/4" difference, not worth that extra 200$ IMO.

sooo will the ACT 6 puck clutch work (it worked with the e153 in the alltrac i think) but will it work with the s54? thats what its coming with, or do i need to buy a new one too

the splines on the alltrack clutch are different and will not go on your s54 trans

So I can just buy a 5s stage 2+ disk. I DO NOT need to get a custom splined 3s (splined to an s54) disk. I mean will it work? If it will great, if not the $200 isnt a big deal. I dont want to buy something that isnt going to work lol
I assume the 3s will come with a 3s flywheel and pressure plate, or i can get some from jim when i pick it up.
