7th gen brake calipers on 6th gen Options

I know I've posted this before, and I know about the long thread about the compatible parts on the 6th gen. I read in the thread that the 7th gen calipers work on the GT as a bolt on. But my question is specifically about the GT convertible. The GT vert has ST tails, and I always have to say it's a GT convertible when I buy parts for it, so I'm not sure how much of the GT vert parts are compatible with the regular GT, or more specifically, I'm not sure if the GT vert calipers can be swapped with the 7th gen calipers/rotors or not. So considering some stuff on my GT vert is also ST (tails), do I have ST brakes or GT brakes?

Also someone told me that the GTS calipers on the 7th gen are different from the calipers on the 7th gen GT. Is this true? If so which one do I get calipers from?

st tails??? you mean coupe tails and yes you have all around gt brakes and the upgrade is gts 7th gen brakes not the gt

yeah, I meant coupe tails, sucks cuz I bought the JDM tails a while back and they didn't fit, I found out I had to use the ones from the curren.

anyway, I have to use the ones from the GTS and not the GT? this link below on ebay, the guy is selling a 7th gen caliper that he says fits both GT and GTS? I'm not saying you're wrong, this is ebay, sellers are wrong a lot of the time.ebay 7th gen caliper

7th gen GT and GTS has slightly different calipers / disc. and either of them would work on your celica. it doesn't matter if its a vert, GT or ST, the brake will work regardless.

Hi, sorry to make you repeat yourself, but the OP's post was a bit jumbled and I came away scratching my head. Which 7th gen brakes do we put on the gt 6th gens? Is it a direct bolt on? How much of an upgrade is it? If I decide to buy some calipers I will post a "how-to" however simple it might be, just for reference purposes.

i will be making a "how to" once i start this conversion. I have to replace my rotors and pads anyway, so I'm replacing my calipers with them, everything will be 7th gen.

Could you use 6th gen rotors with 7th gen pads and calipers? Because my rotors are just fine (Almost new). Also would you need gts or gt calipers for a 6th gen gt?

I don't think so, from what I was reading a while back when you change the calipers you have to change the rotors. The rotors are about 1 inch larger in diameter I think, and the caliper is made for that diameter. They might fit, but the pads might be hanging off the edge of the rotor.
