i had to replace my top since my old top had alot of broken bits and pieces. so heres a little how to.

tools is used:
  1. 10mm socket (deep 10mm if available)
  2. 14mm socket
  3. 15mm socket
  4. 12mm socket (i think i used it somewhere but not sure exactly where, just keep it to make sure)
  5. ratchet
  6. extension
  7. pliers (optional)
  8. a second person

this is what was being put In the car:

note that it didnt have back glass so i dont know if it makes a difference but i dont think that it should.

1. start by taking the back seats and the side plastics. for reference you can uses this:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...;hl=convertible

2. so after everything is off. take these bolts off

3. then take the bolts that hold the speacker bracket. (RED in picture)

4. next take the top motor out (GREEN in picture)

now just loosen the main nuts using a 15mm

i took them off completely but i would suggest just loosen then but dont completely take them off untill ur ready to pull the old one out.

5.
last(ish) bolts are the one that are in the back.
heres a pictures of where they're located .....sorry fogot to take a picture before taking them out

not sure exactly how many there are but there alot.
using a deep 10mm would help alot. but since i didnt have one, i just used some pliers to loosen and then took them off by hand.

now the top should just come off. its a little tricky but not too bad. it helps if ur back window is down but mine couldnt go down (switches are burnt) so i just did it like that...so yea its still possible

now just put everything back in reverse order and if should be fine.

(note: just clean the motor 'spiral things' up a little bit i guess it helps it last longer....obviously not necessary)

feel free to ask any questions and hope this helped

and obviously im not in anyway responsible for any damages that occur. (nothing happened though)
