Its clear that youve done no research whatsoever, which is a shame. A 3sgte swap would be easier than putting a turbo on your 5s. You dont just "slap" turbos on a car and hope for the best.

you dont have to do a swap. look for Pressure2's and my threads on turboing the 5S-FE. i have a ton of pictures. I have all the raw materials to build another kit, i just dont have the time right now. Unless someone drops some $$$.

turboing a stock non-turbo car can be done, but I don't recommend it (even though there a lots of members on here that have done it to theirs). If you take everything into consideration in turboing your 5sfe...like the piggyback unit or EMS, someone to tune it, bigger injectors, oil feed for the turbo and the risks of oil starvation burning up the bearings, running new water piping to the turbo, and whatever else..then you would probably be better off just getting your friends 3sgte and dropping it in the celica. motor mounts line up, transmission bolts in, you just need the celica clutch disk sandwiched between the mr2 pressure plate and flywheel. You need your front engine mount bracket inside of the timing belt, and an electric power steering pump, unless you use your celica one and get an alternator bracket from an alltrac 3sgte (mr2 alternator mounts where the celica p/s pump is), and I believe you need a crank pulley too for the alternator/power steering pump changeover, then it's just mounting a FMIC and running the piping. I believe it to be easier than the 5sfe turbo and it would be quicker. The only downside is how you'll need to use some parts from your 5sfe so you would have trouble selling the engine if that's what you want to do, unless you're keeping or junking it. I used a lot of parts from my 5sfe during the swap, but my parts went onto a Gen III 3sgte, not the Gen II that it sounds like you are getting. I can't imagine them being different, but you never know. Hopefully this helps

Ben you should know better, Mr. instaflame laugh.gif . The real questions are: do you have the disposable income and can you do the work yourself (if not do you have even more disposable income)?. If the answer is yes, then yea no problem, it can be done relatively easily, just check out the info on this site. But, if you can get a 3s from a buddy, F****** get that shiz.

join MR2OC.com and look there for additional support on turboing the 5sfe.. as for all the people who say to just swap in the 3sgte.. they do have a valuble point. since using the 3sgte turbo components (mani, turbo, DP) are one of the easyest ways of doing a 5afte... BUT.. POWER is power.. $$ is $$, and time and effort is just that.. set your self a goal.. a REALISTIC goal.. in terms of money spent, time and effort invested, and projected power goals.....

make a plan.. and STICK to it!!!!!!...

who cares WHAT is under the hood of our lil FF celi.. it does not matter what is in the bay as long as it meets your goals..

325Whp. 7afte, 7agte, 2grfe, 5sfte, 3sgte, 5sgte, etc, etc, etc,etc.. the list goes on.. its all good as long YOU get what you want out of it..

just my $0.02

good luck. biggrin.gif

5sfte turbo is still worth it and with the pride; you'll get decent power but reach a limit to surpass a 3sgte
3sgte turbo has so much more potential

but i think the real difference is money vs goals
