so decided that I would do this instead of posting all over the place like I have been

start with a small back story of me an the car
my names kurt im 22 an been in love with cars for as long as I can remember my grandpa was big into muscle cars an use to race nhra drag cars when it was still small lol and he got me into cars young it all started with a 71nova (witch I still own since he has past away) an once I was old enough to drive I I bought my first car a 89 s10
an went crazy trading for a few then got my first job an got my first import a 94 celica st witch I loved but had to sell since a car seat wouldn't fit so ended up with alot of hondas but London story short 30 cars later I got my 95raise celica witch is what I wanted an have no need for anything else
I sold my last honda an bought the celica for 2500the in almost perfect shape with only 173000 miles on her
(beat my old civic in 4 different trys on the way home) since then I've found this site an found alot of things I loved to do
but enough with all of that
on to pics

the day I got her

the first time with her at the track still bone stock an ran 16.5

the first mods new header sri an rims

got bord an painted the rims an tinted some stuff

finally got my exhaust done 2.5 inch with no cat or resonator gotta love no emissions checks

quick photo op with my old civic

redone my console with custom gauge pod with mini gauges an homemade shifter boot (just ripped stitching out of old boot an copied the different peaces) an add some corning fiber overlay in

decided to sell the 17s an got stock 05 gt rims

last night I decided to put mudflaps on for little bit of a rally look
so that's how she set for now I thanks for reading
let me know what you guys think

Very nice man and welcome to the site...also you can post images with photobucket by moving you cursor over the image and copy the last link ( i think it says direct image or something) and paste it on here.

To post pictures, just post the [img] links.

Good progress so far!

Just put [img] before each link and after. I've never really used Photobucket Mobile but they should offer the [img] links somewhere on the site for each picture.

Kurt... here ya go buddy.
use this button
and where it says link to image, get that link from your photobucket account by clicking the "direct link" box, which will auto copy, and then you paste into the box that wants the direct link.

Your other option is to just use the "image code" button which will copy the text with the [img]http........ already in there.

text will look like this ( i left the final "]" off so it wouldn't post the image again

I'm going to voice my opinion here, as it is just that, an opinion.... but I don't buy the whole "I have a motor to swap in so I must replace EVERY SEAL and part on the motor", effectively x3 the cost. I would EXAMINE the timing belt. If good shape, keep it. I would EXAMINE the motor and observe possible leaks, and replace those seals specifically. IDK. a motor goes 20 years with 220k miles and never needs a headgasket. So why does this motor NEED a head gasket. Just seems like a waste to me. But it's your motor. And I'll be looking for the pics of it apart smile.gif

would you rather be safe than sorry though? something could go not long after it is put in the car. It may even last a year or two, but why take the time to strip it down once it's in the car if you already had it out at one point? It's more of a security and you know about how long it should last since you replaced it

ok I don't plan on pulling the whole motor apart im ment more along the line of like valvecover gaskets intake gasket basically gaskets for whatever I remove but im also going the replace a few other things here an there like timing belt an water pump since it'll be harder once motor is in
im planing a full rebuild maybe next winter so I can have the option to bolt on the ted supercharger without the need to rebuild then an take longer to do
hope that explains it all better
but you both have very good point just depends on the person

big thing im doin is getting a price to get it done so im not thinking it's gonna cost 400 an its actually 600 or visa versa its one of the last 2package big money thing I have to figure out
I did find tweak on here today an pmd him but ill try the site an see if I get a awnser
fighting with my bank an paypal right now cuz when I bought my springs the paypal f#@ked up an sent the payment 2 times so im about 110 in the whole an no one want to fix the goof up (excluding who I bought them from off here ) so about half of what I was Goin to set back this check is going to fix that
but I sold my tc rock crawler so that alil extra forwards my go fast fund

Go to mr2.com. mr220v is on there as well, and you don't need to wait for a mod to approve your account.

niice man, also IMHO when you buy an engine buying a whole gasket kit is less of a hassle looking for leaks, do it right the first time and have no regrets...You never know how these old engines have been run

the pic was taking about 5 minutes after I flipped the motor back over
I had it flipped over cleaning the bottom of the block checking for anything bad

So i finally was able to get ahold of mr220v he said he can make my harness plug an play for 350 an shipping is gonna cost around 60 so 410 altogether
That's slot better than tweak at 630 for plug an play
So hopefully I can have the money around in a couple more week an send my harness out!!
Then done some research on the fuel pump the 92-93 an 94-96
Camry/es300 us the same stock fuel pump as the Celia.gt. so no need to change like slot of people that do 1Ms swaps think
Now to find a flywheel kindasad.gif

Please post pics of the harness once you get it done, I'm curious to see the kind of job $350 gets you. Strictly professionally speaking of course. smile.gif

This is what it gets you. $430 (including paid return shipping) from MR220V.

Plug and play, plus replaced some of the plastic casings that were missing from the harness I sent him.

Wow thats alot less wiring than there was to start with lol
Looks like a good clean job cant wait to get mine done since from what ive read everyones big problem was the harness

How hard was the fuel lines to hook up on your car im guessing easy since ive read idk how many theards an no one mentions them
An can i reuse mt 5s ps pump or do i need 1mz pump or an electric pump from a mr2

I don't know if the 5S PS pump will bolt to the 1MZ. My MR2 doesn't have power anything, so I didn't have to worry about it. You'll probably need the 1MZ pump, which shouldn't be a big deal.

My fuel line work was easy - connect the banjo fuel line from the motor to the fuel filter, and run the rubber return line from the outlet on the fuel rail to the outlet on the firewall. Done. Easy Peasy. The hardest part for me was that the MR2's banjo fitting for the fuel filter is 90 degrees, so the 1MZ fitting wouldn't fit right, so I cut the fuel line off the 5S with plenty of extra line and spliced the two together with a barbed brass fuel line adapter with 4 fuel line clamps and then wrapped in electrical tape so it wasn't as visible.

Been thinking about the exhaust alittle more an does anyone know if these would work in my Celia with the 1Mz or would I be better of just using the stock manifolds an getting the y pipe custom made
And should I stick with my 2.5 exhaust or should I think about bumping up to 3 inch

Your 2.5" should be fine, I would think. Maybe 2.75". I'd just keep the stock 1MZ manifolds and y pipe then have the exhaust shop hook them up for you.

The stock y pipe is shot the flex points are rotted
So I know I have to atleast replace that plus that seems to be the worst part of the stock exhaust so it's the easiest Ashcroft build skittles extra power
But your right I could probably stick to the stock manifolds

Stock y-pipe is horrible. The stock manifolds are bad, but they will work. Have the Y pipe remade with a better flowing merge.

Thats why im leaning torward the headers
Just not sure yet might stick with stock for now so i can get it running then upgrade when i pull it back apart once i get a s51 trans
But does anyone else agree with richee3 that my 2.5 without thr cat or resanator is big enough

Do you have any exhaust pipe from the donor car or just the manifolds? If so, measure the stock exhaust pipe to find out what the stock size was and go from there. I can't imagine that stock exhaust on the donor car was much bigger than 2.5".
