There's a scrap yard by me with a clean black hatch you could get parts off of an wouldn't need to repaint

Thanks! It's actually factory, and real wood even. I'm in the process of reconditioning it now.

I'm in Cincy, but I vote for somwhere central to all of us, maybe around Columbus. Because, let's be honest, Ohio isn't the most exciting state to drive through.

I've always loved that wood look, even like the wrapping. I thought about buying a kit to wrap my plastic in like that. The fact that it's factory makes that even more awesome...... and what do you mean not that many places to drive in ohio?! You guys just don't live in the right parts of the state. It's flat where you are. Where I am it might as well be the swiss alps in comparison lol. Look on your maps for St Rt. 56. It goes from London, OH clear to Athens. As you get east of circleville the roads start winding up, and as you get into hocking hills south of columbus its a drive clear to athens. A favorite of mine to be honest. I know that's not a meet up place, but I was just arguing my point. On a side note, end of feb might be tough for me. College.... Senior year...... very busy. But if you guys want to plan it, I'll see what I can do about making it.

I vote for the lake at Wellston.

OK, so there are some good driving roads in Ohio, but only in the southern part. I drive up to Michigan a couple times a year and one you get north of Dayton, it's all farmland. And Hocking Hills is pretty nice, that could be a good place to meet if it weren't in an extreme corner of the state.

What about mid-March? That's the next time I have a weekend off. I can get time off in Feb though if we get a date picked out.

lol all that is my corner of the state dude. I'm a proponent of St Rt. 555 , awesome road. And St RT 56 that goes west out of athens and ends up in London Ohio. That road for about an hour west of athens is one of my all time favorites. Exhaust noises heard echoing out of the rock cliffs and caves of hocking hills as that road hits the back side thereof..... outstanding. Given that I go to OU and live near Marietta, haha..... I know the Southern part of the state pretty well. Hocking hills is the closest to columbus for good roads though. You won't get any closer.

There are some pretty good roads around here too. I think once you are north of the Ohio River Valley it all goes to flat straight grid like highways.

I would love to get in on this!! And I say the lake in Wellston is a great idea bc its right in my backyard. Hence, I know most of the fun to drive backroads in that area biggrin.gif. I'm about as far south in OH as you can get, and Columbus is a 2 hr drive for me if I don't take my chances on a ticket. between me and ricochet, I think we could have the whole south eastern corner of the state covered pretty well for known good roads.

I'm ok with where ever, but my weekend availability is the 16th-18th or the 24th-26th of March, so I vote for one of those weekends. And I totally want to see richee3's BEAMS too.

I'll probably have to trade some days at work but I'll see what I can do to make it. March 24th, time? Exact meeting place? What will we be doing? Cookout, cruise, photoshoots, etc?

mine is red with a black spoiler, but its always parked at the fairgrounds.. ive seen another red one around here though

ah ok. There is a red one that had a black bumper front and back that they resprayed in their garage you could tell.

There is a silver one driving around but it looks pretty good. There is a black one that parks at the University Commons (where I live) and of course my red and white one.

The 24th is a saturday. Dan, how many days do you get off in a row?

I've got a portable gas grill and some other nice stuff that we could use. It's a shame that I won't have the RHD done cause we would have a GT2 a Beams a V6 a Beams RHD a 5sfe..... the only motor we'd be missing is the old 7a at that point lol. That would be engine swap heaven lol

I get 3 days off one week, 4 the next week. I invariably work Saturdays though, so I would need to convince someone to trade me days so I could be there.

I definitely have Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off. Possibly Wednesday. I'll look into trading days so I can be off Friday-Wednesday at the very least. Whether I can make it to the meet or not, I'll definitely be up there for your Spring Break to lend a hand and check the old girl out. If I come, it'll be me and the lady.

So what's the official attendance list? And out of who is attending, what will everyone be bringing? Since I'm a maybe, I'm hesitant to bring something that will be necessary such as buns or burgers or something. If I can lock in my attendance, I'll change what I can bring.

Also, as for a place to meet, our Starved Rock meets have always gone over well due to the fact that we hold them in a state park with a picnic shelter with a grill, trashcan, bathroom, etc. Not that this meet needs to be at a state park, but you guys get the idea. Just some food for thought.

Attending:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Maybe attending:
1. Daniel/Brigette
2.
3.

So the official date is March 24th or just tentatively? Once we lock all the details down I'll start asking around about trading days to see if I can make it.

As soon as an official location is set, I'll do my best to drop in. Turnout should be alright. I don't see this one falling through. At least I hope it doesn't.

Chillicothe / Tar Hollow area?

It's semi central and within proximity to the driving roads.... if people want to experience driving roads.

With quite a few people coming from Cinci and KY and the south part of the state, I was just calling that out because it seemed to be more central to our population base..... we don't have any clevelanders or Toledo people so I was just trying to average out the driving for people while still maintaining good driving roads.
But we can do whatever.

farther south of Columbus would definitely be better driving roads. Really, anything north of Chillicothe is flat, thus no good driving roads.

Sounds good to me, but Trace will have to take the lead on this one. I don't know many of the roads that far north. If we decide to go south, I know plenty of great roads to drive, especially towards Shawnee Forest and Wayne National Forest.

If you want Natl Forest, I could take everybody the back way from Jackson down to the river and back up 93 through Wayne Natl Forest to Jackson. Then if we still wanna do some driving, I'm sure Trace would know of a few up that way. Just throwing out some options.

thats if you do the limit... decent speed, 23 is an hour and a half from cincy. and jackson is 15-20 min from 32-23 junction.. so thats 1.75 hours plus the time for you to get to 32 from wherever you are in cincy

This^
I can make it to the cincinatti outer belt from Belpre Ohio (right across the river from Parkersburg WV) in about 3 hours. I can be just north of Louisville in just over 4 hours. My mom lives there. Athens is 35 min from belpre, Jackson is 40 min from Athens, You're likely no more than 2 hours.....closer to 1 hr 45 min. of course this depends on where you live in Cincy.

How about meet in Chilli and take a drive down to the river, then back up to Jackson.

I think this should be set up the same way as our Midwest meet originallly was- find where the majority of people are coming from, then find a location semi-local to that.

Most everyone is in southern ohio
So the places mentioned should work the best

really? because I would think we'd want something closer to Cincinnati or Dayton. or on 71 between Cincinnati and Columbus. that'd be further south?
Just a thought, I'm still down for pretty much whatever.
