so my trottle cable is all lose, and when i tighten it, its still lose. i can literally pull it off. so i have a few questions. any answers are appreciated

how much is one from toyota?
can i get it from an auto parts store?
are there any universal ones?
how do i install?

They cant really get longer, its cable. Are you sure your tightening it?

It'd be real easy to take off, one part is connected to your gas pedal, the other to the throttle.

yea, its all stretched and stuff. it wont tighten. I will go check again tomorrow in the light. but im pretty sure its been e-long-ated

Yeah, mine has done that too, I think there used to be another plastic washer/spacer at the pedal end that has broken and fallen off, causing too much slack, Toyota doesnt seem to have anything listed but the entire assembly, and their diagrams aren't worth s**t. dont remember the price, but I remember it wasnt exactly cheap. I am eventually going to work on making a spacer for the pedal end, shouldn't need any more than a couple of thick washers, maybe brass or aluminum, saw a slot in them, slide over cable at the pedal end, and crimp the slot shut...something along those lines anyway...
