I cant see it making any big difference, obviously it will do something but wether you wil even be able to tell is another question. I know Ive read on this site about people getting them for the their st and it didnt do much. For real gains you have to alter something physically, like a turbo, or build up the engine.

And then even if you do have the capable engine, it'll cost you quite a bit. Usually over $1,000.

$700 for mine. Helped a lot. Gave me much better gas mileage while still boosting performance a bit. They just took mine and messed with it lol.

ahhh yeah they reprogrammed yours. I think he's talking about a completely new ECU. I think I saw one on Ebay awhile back for the MR2T, it was quite expensive.

el prototypes can reprogram your ecu for ~800. I think they are claiming gains of 10-15 hp. or get a SAFC II and get some dyno time. the latter would probably be the wiser choice.

I would think reprogramming a USDM ECU would like having a JDM ecu, more aggressive with increase in HP.

i love it.

looks great

easy to use

works wonders for my turbo setup, with out it i run REALLY RICH, i lean it out a little and the car pulls so much hard, and the afr gaugs still reads rich. after i install my fmic i will get it dyno tuned.

Go for broke and get both! lol Like me.

Also, my ECU is reprogrammed to run a different shift pattern when at WOT. This excludes my need to go from first to second to third to OD, instead the ECU does this for me if I hold the pedal to WOT, and induces correct shifting at each of the desired RPMs, instead of the standard shift pattern. Along with that, they did the modifications I stated earlier. The SAFC helps me control fuel even more though and I definitely recommend it.

BTW, my ECU was reporgrammed by the same company I got the Torque Converter from, and it's local so yeah. biggrin.gif
