This is tackling the performance aspect from a different angle. If you just want to go fast in a straight line turbo it or get a 3sgte. But for anything else besides a straight line, get strut bars, sway bars, coilovers and bigger brakes. They will allow you to carry more speed into corners and get the power down quicker. Other cars may monster you on the straight but come the corners where the fun is you will monster them especially in the light nimble celica.

Depends on what you want.

A 3vz-fe or 1mz-fe can be had cheaper than a 3s-gte and has about the same power, stock for stock. You can use your stock GT transmission for both.

From there on, you only have two other options, which are both money pits.

3s-gte or 2gr-fe. 2gr-fe is a 3.5L V6 that can be minimally modded to get about 300whp. 3s-gte is 3s-gte. For these two, you might want the Camry Solara e153 fwd transmission.

If you ever want to turbo. 3vz or 3sgte is your best bet
A 3vz is the cheapest route an easyest to find parts for.
The 1mz will cost more than a 3vz but doesnt hold up to boost as well. But starts out with more power.
All 3 can be backed by a s54( stock gt) transmission. But if you plan on trying to build more than 250hp
Youll want a e153.
Im running a 1mz/ s54 combo in my 94gt an so far i like it
The hardest part to the v6 swaps is the wiring witch is easiest if you just send it to a professional
The 2 best are mr220v or tweak. I used mr220v to do mine an he did a great job. But alot od people from here have used tweak for other harnesses an had great results so im sure he is capable of doing a v6 harness.

The best thing you can do is research an talk to people that have the swaps an see what they have to say an figure out for yourself what will work best for you

I would also consider to buy a ST205 instead, if it's possible where you live.. then you get much more power, brakes, handling etc, and its ready to drive and legal smile.gif

(Don't know the legal aspects of engine swaps where you live)

He is right, Nova Scotia should allow import of an ST205.

Define "more power" 3hp is "more power" and can be had with an intake and exhaust. 200hp is also "more power" but requires a turbo bolted to your 5S, or 3S swap. How reliable do you want your car? What is your budget? Horsepower goals? What do you use the car for? These are all thing you need to consider. "More power" is a very vague statement.

Nova scotia allows them, and has many coming through there as they are right on the coast.

1. Get rid of Celica.
2.Buy Gt four
3.???
4. Profit!
