Hello forum!
I'm a long time 6gen Celica owner, however years ago, when I worked selling Toyota cars, I sold my sister a 1999 Toyota Camry with the 5fse engine. Now it needs some work. Well, as things go she is in a tough place, and I'm just helping out and paying for everything, what I hadn't realized is that it was missing the exhaust from the cat back... so does anyone by chance have one laying around, or do you know of a forum site as good as this for the camry? Toyotanation just seems to have too much junk. I'm in Michigan and willing to take a nice drive if it gets my hands on a used exhaust... Thanks for reading! |

Just take it to your local exhaust shop and have them make one for it. Shouldn't cost too much, not much more if not less than what you'd pay someone. Depending on the shop anyway. I know my local shop is very reasonable with their prices.

I know it's not free, but if it doesn't include the cat then consider getting one from a junkyard. Detaching it from the cat should be a matter of a couple of bolts. Car-part.com is a web portal which allows you to search the inventories of auto recyclers who use this software (and it's popular) across North America.

Well, here's the whole story.,..
My sister and brother-in-law had not taken care of their vehicle, then my brother-in-law got sick and could no loner drive. So it sat broken in their driveway for a year or more. There son has now gotten his drivers license and could help out around the house running the younger kids to and from school, and my brother-in-law back and forth to the hospital. As you can imagine, they have been a little distracted, and at one point had planned on having my brother, a mechanic, fix the brakes and muffler. Well a few more months had passed, and I hear that their car is still not fixed, so I make the plans to tow the car to my brother's garage and start ordering parts. We show up at my sisters house, and the car is gone. The next day, I call my sister and find out, that they've had it towed to a garage and after getting a quote, they've said it's not worth fixing. Needs a timing belt, water pump, brakes, tires, etc.. etc... etc... So, if I wanted to go pick it up, me and my brother could do whatever we wanted to do with it. We ran over and grabbed it the following weekend, and found that the timing belt that we had changed last year is fine, the water pump that was also changed last year, also fine, on and on,. a bunch of bull $hi7 from the shop it had been at. So, the exhaust is gone, don't know where,... the brake parts, filters etc.. have all been ordered from rockauto.com for a great deal and are on the way. I have tires that I can put on it, so that's a wash. No labor charges, and a great deal on parts, it looks like it will be very road worthy for just under $150.00 a far cry from unrepairable. |
