Hello. I do quite a few mundane things. One of those is to collect "real" 1/4 mile times from submissions via my page, forums and so on and have created my own page of statistics. Some people like this because they can submit their times and compare it with other users on the same forum, or cars of a similar power/type...or compare their own home build to much more exotic cars!
There is a distinct lack of Gen 6 Celicas on there so a few submissions would be very welcome Standard, modified and extreme are all accepted. You can either submit (and of course view existing pages) at: http://www.aj-computing.co.uk/misc/quartermile/ or reply to this thread with: Car: Year: Engine: Power (specify flywheel or at wheels): Tires: Time and Trap speed: Name: Excuses: If you dont have all the details, don't worry, we will leave them blank until you re-submit. Thank you Alex
Reason for edit: added engine for sawps, and tires: street or track

QUOTE Well you see, they're just now getting across the finish line Not always... I was avoiding this thread like the plauge, cause 99.8% of the people here dont go to the track very much if at all, since the 6gc, especially in the USA where the gt-4 wasnt available wasnt really made to go fast in a straight line..lol but, since noone else posted any times, here is mine. Car: GT Year: 94 Engine: 5sfTe (details can be found here: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=23187&st=0 ) Power (specify flywheel or at wheels):307whp Tires: BFG drag radials Time and Trap speed: 13.6 @ 108mph Name: Manny & Jenn Excuses: Crazy part about that run, well...maybe not so crazy really..lol is that the launch was pretty horrible, as always lots of wheelspin and wheelhop thru first and 2nd...I still say anyone in a celica @ or around 300whp easily has a mid 12 second car, just a matter of getting a halfway decent launch and having the suspension setup to control wheelhop and spin as much as possible. Hope that helps! -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Not gonna add my time but I'll just agree with Manny in that I KNOW a mid 12 is possible with the right everything. I have gotten very close myself [tho close is subject to perspective and perception] - thats all I'm willing to say.

I ran 12 flat in my 7th gen on drag radials and making 550 to the wheels. i had a perfect launch and a 1.8 60 foot. mid 12's is not as easy as you think. the 7th gen is lighter and i still havent broke into the 11's....not yet. i have videos of this on my you tube page, just look up eodninja6

Driver mod is the biggest factor in my times. put someone with experience behind the wheel of that car, and it would have been a much better result, im 100% sure of that. maybe should have worded it better in my first post too. i prolly should have said, " ...easily has a upper 12sec car, mid 12's with a great driver/setup" my 2.2 60ft is what kept me from running high 12's in that run. make that 2.2 a 1.9 or even 2.0 and that run is damn close to a high 12sec run, without a doubt. if i haddnt snapped my alternator belt on that run, i think my wife prolly would have run 12's before i did, she always did have better runs than i did, after all it IS her car! lol unfortunately for her, she didnt get to make a run after i ran the 13.6, the bolt that holds the alternator tensioner bracket to the engine snapped, which let the tension off the belt, and right after that run (or maybe during it?) the belt snapped. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

I haven't brought my car to the track yet since my swap but my 5s with 226k went 16.8 lol.. wasn't bad for my first time, I had fun.
how ever since my swap, I did make a few runs with someone that went 13.2 in a single cam turbo hatch and I beat him by full car on my old proxie4s.. it was from a 10mph roll just for clarification. (it was a closed down street, sorry for the racing reference Manny) I believe a 3s swapped celi is a 12 mid to high 12 sec street car all day (with the appropriate setup and driver) and a 13 sec track car as launching isn't the cars high point with the fwd setup IMHO. I'll have to find my slips too, but my GT ran low 18's at the track. It was my first time out there, and it was getting cool at night so it was a little harder to get traction. I don't see it as being too bad for my first time out. Also, my car had around 240k on the engine at the time

Could I have a few more details celica95-95 if you don't mind? Then I can get your time up
Death: a time will be good don't have to see the slip will take your word! Thanks for the responses guys have got the ones I can up. My result the other month: Car: Toyota Celica GT-Four Year: 1994 Engine: 3SGTE. Stock internals Power: 366.7BHP at flywheel Time/eta: 12.9831s @ 110.03MPH Name: Alex Collard Excuses: Quite pleased with that. Was running 13.4 until I thought sod it will push it a little more on the launch...but then it slipped a bit in 3rd! Was taking it easy on the clutch on the launch as I have a stock, worn clutch.
