Here is the schematic of the Fog Light assembly.

I was wondering what should I modify to have control of the foglights whenever the car is on almost like a second pair of headlights. I want to be able to turn the fogs on without having to have the headlights on. My guess is I would splice a wire from the ignition switch to where the headlight is attached at the relay. Did anyone here do this modification before?

I did a similar mod, except I have mine turn on with the parking lights. Yes, you would splice a a wire that is live in run to the headlight terminal on the relay. I would be sure to cut the headlight lead as you don't want power to back feed into the run wire from the headlights. This could cause and issue if you turn the headlights on while the car is off!

So to clarify: cut the wire from the headlights to relay. Splice live when in run wire(acc) to old headlight connection on the relay.

you can get a DRL module and have your fogs stay on all the time while the engine is running. that's what i did.

this is the same module i have. i'm not sure if these are readily available in the U.S. since DRLs are mandatory here in Canada.
it's about $45 and really easy to wire up.

this is the only pic i have with the fogs on (while headlights are off).

A relay should work. I've done a similar thing, but to my head unit.

My fogs only work when the marker lights are on minimum. Don't remember if it was like that or something I did to make it work that way
