Well I just bough my 6g Celica and it has this big gap in the window trim (lh) and in looks bad because the other side is in better shape.... I'm new at this forum.... Let me know...

I'm also new here, but if the gap is the one shown in the photo of your celica, your window just needs to be adjusted. To do that, you need to remove the inner door panel and adjust the upper stops in the door panel. The Window comes all the way up.... The gap is between the window trim and the roof... Don't get me wrong i didn't explain my self....

Not at the moment... But us easy ti explain.... There's a link in this site that shows you how to paint window trims? http://www.6gc.net/howto/paint_window_trim
So the gap is in the top part between the window trim and the roof.... At this time I don't have the car because she is going to get imported to Mexico... Sorry... Hopefully on Thursday I will have the car with me?? An I will take the picture! |

Actually, that's all I need to know. I have the exact same problem that you do on both sides of the car and I need to paint those pieces anyway. When I take them off to paint them, I'll see if I can fix the gap. Anyone else have this problem? |

You do? Well is better if you paint them with out removing it!!!! The 5g Celica has the same type of trim on and me and a friend try to remove them but it has urethane and is kind of hard to remove that!! Let me know if you fix it!!

How big is the gap supposed to be? It's .5cm in some spots and doesn't look intentional. The gap is also not mentioned in the service manual.
I'm going to feel really stupid if its supposed to be that way! |

Well I've work for Toyota back in Mexico and evrething has specs... So if its Normal.... What's the gap spec??

All my Celicas have been like that.
You get used to being careful with the polishing in that area...the gap gets narrower and the car "grabs" the polishing cloth sometimes. lol |
