Does anybody know the diameter of the shank for the OEM mag lug nuts? I need to get some lug nuts to put my stock wheels back on for the winter and just want to make sure I get proper fitting lug nuts.

12mm x 1.5 I know that, I'm talking about the diameter of the shank at the end of the lugs that fits in the hole on the stock aluminum wheels. The lugs look like this: What I'm looking for is the diameter of that bottom piece (the shank) -------------------- 2007 Impreza 2.5i - Daily

Can't you measure or use your current ones?
The end is rounded up, so even with the diameter known you may end up with a bit of a different shape. -------------------- |

I don't have the wheels with me at the moment so I can't measure the size of the hole. And somebody had acorn style lugs on there before and you can tell that the wheel and the lugs were getting ruined from using them so that's why I'm looking for some OEM style mag lugs with the shank. -------------------- 2007 Impreza 2.5i - Daily

Scapyard/Ebay? I've been trying eBay but a lot of them state a different diameter for the shank which is why I'm looking for that length Although they aren't that much different (around 0.1"). Do you think that it would make much of a difference? -------------------- 2007 Impreza 2.5i - Daily

It really boils down to how much surface is touching between the two.
You can go to scrapyard and buy some from a corolla, maybe Paseo, mr2, Avensis. If you don't really care about how they look of course. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20-x-ALLOY-WHEEL...=item3377d9352e Look at the list of similarities. Maybe some aftermarket http://www.ebay.com/itm/16-12X1-5-BLACK-SP...M-/130546817081 -------------------- |

That style is what I had on before and was damaging the wheel I think I might just go with these, then I know for sure they will work http://www.ebay.com/itm/94-95-96-97-98-99-...D-/141079558637 -------------------- 2007 Impreza 2.5i - Daily

From what I understand, with aftermarket acorn style lug nuts, they reach the studs but just barely and it isn't good for the wheels or the lugs and it isn't safe. However with the stock mag style lug nuts, they reach all the way into the hole like this picture on the right: You can see in this picture that if you try using the acorn lug nuts (On the left) in our stock wheels (the wheel on the right), it doesn't quite fit. I hope that makes sense...lol -------------------- 2007 Impreza 2.5i - Daily

You should mount one in dry fit and see how things look. I have steelies, tho I am not sure if they come exactly from a Celica, but they come from a Toyota. I don't have factory lug nuts, but they are not some fancy aftermarket either.
But that lug on the right will not sit nice on both my summer and winter rims. -------------------- |

The short lug nuts in the picture you posted are shorter than stock 6th gen lug nuts. The shorter ones are from a Corolla, 7th gen Celica, or Sienna. They should still work.
