Haartz is the material used. Robbins seems to have a good rep, and a new top from them is around $550. I think my '97's top is original, so I've been looking.

anything is better that the old stuff. Putting a new top is a PITA, i did this procedure partially, and it takes several hours.

I lucked out for 500 bucks I got new floor rockers, new leather seats, new rear speaker panel covers, new top(took whole frame as well since mine had a crack on left rear frame piece and seals were busted), new sun visors, they had all mint condition so I ended up taking it 500 at a local part out.

Thank you for the info though, yeah the top I have to install here in like 2 hours because Its going to snow but the tops worse PITA I feel is the rear where it bolts on with all the 10mm I cant seem to really get it
