I was wandering if the 2nd gen 5sfe camshaft are any different from the 3rd gen camshaft? I was told they're slightly more aggressive. Also are they interchangeable parts?

Yes and yes. For whatever reason, probably emissions, they're not as aggressive in the 6th gen. Similar thing happened with the ST when it became OBDII, a more restrictive intake lost 5 hp. Is it worth the trouble, probably not unless you're sending them off to be ground. Power to weight ratio goes from 19.85 to 19.1, so meh... Now if you could get 20 or more from doing cams...
