Martin

No, someone outed the owner on facebook, slightly embarrassing for him. Luckily (if there is any luck to have out of this situation) it's only the 1.8 ST and not a GT4, although ST owners will take no solace from this.

Oh well, better get my self to work, half day on a Friday so more car tinkering time.

Blacked tails, primer, unpainted body work, I was going to say 'no big loss'.

Some guy did a plate search on it in the UK, its not even a GT4, just a replica...

Makes me sad to see, but at least it wasn't a Group A

Yea, it was a 7A-FE all riced up. No big loss, probably all replica parts too.

So a gt4 bumper. And replica raiser blocks, blacked out tails and lowered suspension makes it a rice celica?

Boy that sounds like a lot of members here on the board, that are proud of their cars.

Devils advocate....

No, the primer gray on all the body and unpainted kit parts with blacked tails and a 1.8 under the hood with rear drums hiding under the body kit for a 250hp 4wd monster make it a ricer. It's like a stuffed bra at the school dance, why lie? As soon as you hit the gas and it sounds like 'weeeeeeeeee' instead of 'woooosh roar' everyone knows.

But specifically yes, blacked tails on a street driven car are ****ing terrible riceroni bull****. What's the purpose of tail and brake lights?

I'm not about blacked tails. I hate that ****, as bad as blacked head lights. THEY'RE ****ING LIGHTS YOU MORON, DON'T PAINT THEM BLACK. Find some creative way to work them into the car's appearance.

If it's a show car, no. If you're driving that on the road do you really think I can see your brake lights at dawn/dusk with the sun glaring over the roof of the car? I see so many 'murdered out' cars around here with **** painted black where all you see is a dim glow from the brake lights at night, can't even see the tail lights on if they're even driving with them on. At least your car has some white on it so it's visible at night. You could have worked proper lights into your theme, clear lenses with LED's in them on white background.

I know I'll never change anyone's mind here, 'it looks cool' is too strong of a motivating factor. Safety is my first choice, if it looks good AND it's safe then it's cool but if it's not safe I don't care how cool it is.

I would say it is good enough, I wouldn't do it as much on my next car tho. My plate lights are also quite bright (not fitted on this picture yet).

If those are tail lights then you did well. If those are brake lights then they look as bright as the rails should be. Are you missing the center high mount stop lamp?

On mine when you brake two bulbs lit up, making it four total, two only when the headlights are on.
If you have noticed I have a lot of stuff shaved off the car, including the 3rd brake light. Just keep in mind it didn't came on all 6gc from factory, if that could be of any excuse.
