Hi everyone

I've got my convertible out from storage at last, all is running well, and so I'm just doing a few things to update it. It's my 3rd gen6 and I'm used to doing the LED's in the instrument cluster and dash. I bought the ones I needed, got the panel out, and found that instead of the three main bulbs there are only two. Where the third should be is like a grey plastic something or other which I cannot remove and does not contain a bulb. The thing is, the middle of the cluster was dim before and now that I've replaced the two bulbs it's brighter everywhere except that dim part.

It's a JDM '95 which has not been modified in any way and the dials are identical to before on the front - it's been converted to MPH in the normal way (I've had imports before) and I'm puzzled. I now have a lovely bright cluster with a dim patch where the 180 mph is on the speedo.

I also checked the smaller bulbs, all seem to be working. I'm confused! Any ideas?

Take a picture of the back and front. Unscrew the individual gauges and see what's under there. Post a picture of that. With all my gauge modification failures I'm sure I could figure out what's going on tongue.gif

Thanks for that. I'm working for the next few days but will do so when I can, provided I can upload the photos.

Thanks for your offer of help - in the end I worked out that there are 4 smaller bulbs in random places which together light up the dash. Strange. But I replaced them with LED's and we're up and running. I can see when I'm going 180....
