Dexron-III took over for Dexron-II and is available at Wal-Mart.
Just noticed you're in Canada, so whatever grocery store chain with an automotive section you guys have should have it to. This post has been edited by Box: Jun 9, 2015 - 9:24 PM -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Dexron is ATF. Some power steering systems call for ATF, some for DOT 3, some are either/or. Power steering fluid is more like ATF but without all of the detergents.
Then you had Ford which specified Mercon which is more or less their version of Dexron. Point being it's important to use what's called for as DOT 3 isn't compressible, isn't full of detergents, and is hygroscopic so using one in a system designed for another can make a real mess of things. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Okay cool, thanks for the all the help guys, much appreciated, i did look up the fluid and it did say that dexron iii was the replacement fluid, but then the website i was on got all complicated naming other brands and types so i thought asking the 6gc community would be easier, so i appreciate getting the answer

Dexron-III replaced Dexron-II ages ago. Just make sure the fluid says it's Dexron-III/Mercon compatible and you'll be good to go.
