Anyone ever done this? Been scouring the forum here but haven't had a lot of luck. I've never torn into my fuel tank, nor even removed the rear seats. But my gas gauge gets stuck at half empty and I really want to fix it. Gas gauge has been "slow" since the day I bought the car 3 years ago, so I always figured the sender has been on its way out. But anyway, just hoping for a quick (or long and detailed) briefing on what kind of work this job entails.

I did this exact job on my old 67 VW and it was the easiest thing in the entire world. But on the Toyota dealer diagrams I'm seeing, this sender unit seems to be mounted internally to the tank? Seems tough, or I'm just seeing it wrong. Thanks in advance.

Part I want to replace,
