hey, i'm the owner of a 1994 celica gt with the premium stereo system. today i installed a new headunit, bypassing the stock amp and running the speakers off the amp in the headunit. getting the little blue connecter out from underneath the amp and removing the 2 clips wasn't the most enjoyable task, but hey - no pain, no gain. after wiring the harnesses together, i realized that the largest speakers on the doors (predominately for bass - at the bottom of the doors, i don't know the size off hand, sorry =/) aren't working. the mids, tweeters, and speakers in the back are working fine. i tried reconnecting all of the speaker wires again, just to make sure nothing was loose - but it appears that there isn't even wire in the harness for these speakers (nothing seemed to work).
![]() (also, the yellow memory wire from the vehicle's harness held no power under any circumstance, but this problem was solved by running a 12v wire with an inline fuse off of the battery.) any help would be greatly appreciated. This post has been edited by Zack: Feb 28, 2004 - 1:26 AM |

Are you saying that you have 3 speakers in each door? If so, I know that Toyota had a premium sound system on some vehicles with a separate woofer, mid-range and tweeter. In these set-ups, I believe there was a separate amp for the woofers underneath the driver's seat. This may be the cause of your problem. Check this out and see if this is the problem. If not, I'll have to do some more thinking.
