I was kind of wondering the same thing myself. Wait, it just hit me. The radio is 52W(or somewhere in that ball park) per channel. Where as the tablet doesn't have a powered output, nor multiple channels. Probably has it to where the headphone out of the tablet goes into an auxiliary input on the radio. One way to work around that would be to use a 1/8" stereo to RCA adapter on the tablet out to a 4 channel amplifier, then out to the speakers. Personally that'd be my route of choice.
