So I have a 5sfe GT and I pulled off the thermostat housing and the gasket ripped so I'm going to need a new one. Ran to oreilly, autozone, and pepboys and they all came out with the water outlet gasket only. Not the thermostat housing gasket. What is it really called? I mean I'm pretty sure I got it right? Thermostat housing gasket.....I searched on trademotion.com and it has a ipb of the cooling system but it doesn't show the piece I need. Makes me wander if the 5sfe really does need a gasket for the thermostat housing or not? Nope I'm not talking about the thermostat gasket either. It's a paper material gasket. Any ideas?

never heard of it. toyota stopped using paper in the 80s. theres only a thermostat rubber gasket, such thermostat housing gasket otherwise would be steel and go between the water pump main piece and the block, or otherwise between the water pump main piece and the impeller cover
