So I was removing my steering knuckle and I had to rotate the strut (still bolted up on top) and it makes this loud rubber? rubbing like noise.. is this normal? seems to be the same on the other side as well.
I'm just trying to fix up my 94 GT to be road worthy again. It need a clutch, replacement steering knuckle, and I think the front main seal is leaking pretty bad. -------------------- |

Best guess: spring twisted in the spring seat when you turned the strut. The rubber squeal you hear is the spring seat insulator compressing between the spring and the spring seat. Double check that the upper spring seat is correctly aligned to the strut, and that the spring is aligned to the spring seats.
