Ok my car which is severx13's old car I'm the new owner and he told me a lot of you guys can help me. when my car gets to 4 grand rpm my wastegate opens and not too long after it opens it falls on its face and blows black smoke out my wastage at 4500. it will not get any higher than 4500 rpm while driving in any gear. but in neutral it will goto 7000.please if you can help.

Don't buy a boost controller. It will not fix anything.

5sfTe's are known to run very rich in the upper rpms. This is mostly due to the fact that your car has larger injectors (because of the turbo), but is still running on the stock ecu. To fix this you will need:
1. A wideband a/f ratio gauge.
2. some type of computer to help tune the fuel curve (your car probably has an apexi safc).

What you want to do is remove fuel from the HIGH corrections map in the safc, so that the wideband reads something in the mid 11 afr range (wide open throttle, at 4-6k rpm). If you don't know how to do this, or don't have a wideband, you will need to visit a dyno and have them figure it out for you. Either that or look around the internet and learn how to do it on your own.
