Has anyone else considered mounting the cruise control actuator somewhere else? Below is what I have to work with..haha. I thought about cutting a hole in my custom airbox and mounting it sideways in there. Other than that I have that big gap area around the distributor and behind the intake piping, but I would need a shorter cable running to it from the firewall. What do you guys think?

I relocated mine near the clutch master. Although there is very little clearance, it doesn't touch or rub on anything there. Uses the original GT cruise control cable. Only downside is not being able to run the plastic cover with it. I've had it like this for a few years now, and works great. No trouble with cable kinking at all.

that is an awesome place for it!! but I have an alarm horn there. I'm glad it fits, I can easily move the alarm horn somewhere else and put my cruise control there though. My cable will kink for sure, it has a bad spot in it that may make it kink.

Is the wiring easily accessible from there to shorten it? Or does it run through the main loom to the passenger side?

Hmm, it's been awhile, but I'm pretty sure the factory cruise control wiring is run down the driver side, so it should be very simple to get the wiring where you need it to be.

yeah, my first thought was to extend the wires, but if they are running that way it would be easier to just tap into them back there. I think there is a bundle of wires with a yellow wire channel around them on that side. I'll look tomorrow.
