Hi
I have just bought a front strut brace from a Toyota Celica GT to put in my ST. I notice that it fits to only two of the three bolts on each of the suspension towers and is bent in a V shape back to the bulkhead where it appears to locate to two holes. My car has the holes but they have plastic covers that I can't seem to remove!!! I'm about to go to my local Toyota dealer to ask for the two bolts I will (hopefully) need to install the strut brace. I'm worried the holes will have no threads for the bolts behind the plastic covers. Any tips from ST owners who have fitted the OEM strut brace or am I wasting my time. Thanks CK This post has been edited by ChristianTRD: Apr 14, 2013 - 5:43 PM |

While it isn't the the strongest strut bar, it is functional and will help. Those plastic covers are basically just thick stickers and should peel right off. I'm surprised they are giving you problems. But have no fear, Toyota did indeed put threads for those bolts. They are nothing more than your standard 14 mm bolt, roughly an inch long in case you have any spares sitting around.
