Sooo... Iv almost finished on my interior (jus gotta finish wrapping front seats) and plan on starting on exterior this summer. I really want something done with the rearI lights.

Currently using tinted OEM lights. The JDM ones seem to be common on here and I'm not too eager on the afterburners. So my question is what other options are available? was thinking maybe an Audi R8 rear lights conversion? can it be done? ld love to hear everyones opinions on this and other possible options.

Ps I hate supra lights on celicas and will NOT consider them at all lol

Jdm tails are common here because they are the best in terms of a simple "bolt on" lighting change.

As far as options go you have four:
-stock
-jdm
-afterburner
-custom

So yes you could do an r8 conversion. Would it be easy? Not by any means.. Will you be doing the bodywork yourself? If not it will be very expensive and might be hard to even find a shop that would take that project on.

Also consider what it will look like finished. Sure r8 tails are damn sexy but they may not flow with the celicas body. This i believe is the hardest part of a conversion is finding parts that look like they belong and execution of conversion.

Now if you look around the site you can see some fine examples of body work and ingenuity. Mgmt has done some sweet work with his supra conversion. Soundslut has a flawless rx8 tail conversion, i believe was done by a shop. Royo also has a nice supra conversion.

There was a recent post of a celica that had a near full conversion with a lexus front end and what seemed to be Genesis taillights.
Remember anything is possible with enough money, time, and know how.

I dont mean to discourage you, just throwing out some info.
I hope you find what you like and follow through because I love conversions. Theyre different and can add to a car's personality.
