Just recently had a new distributor put in. I also had a new engine put into my celica in 2012 (st204). I had the engine rev to 3500 rpm in a parking lot and it got stuck there. It came down a bit when I revved higher in order to try and stop it (with the clutch depressed of course). It kept up between 2000 - 3500 rpm until I parked it and shut it off. Hasn't had that problem since, in the last two weeks. Is this something diagnosable? Is it something I should be worried about?

first check to make sure the foot carpet isnt getting stuck in front of the pedal.
then rev the engine using the throttle cable line o make sure it isnt a sticky throttle cable line
