Hi,
Guys need help, what is the possible cause of this? everyday when i first start my engine it cause a very low rpm and causing an engine stall so it means that i need to press the gas for a while until the engine is warm , when the engine is warm the rpm is back to normal again. My Car used to do this ALL the time when the temp went below 20C; For me, it turned out it was the PCV valve...
One afternoon my car just wouldn't start again (I had just driven it for 30mins), Upon opening the bonnet and checking everything, I initially missed the cause... After going inside and making a call to my dealer (the car had a warranty); I went back to the engine bay where I discovered a small crack in the PCV valve plastic, when I touched (and I mean just touched) the valve, it sheered completely off... I had to use instant gasket stuff to 'patch' the valve and drive her to the dealer where she was repaired that night... I didn't have any problem after that in the cold Although, sometimes if I drive my car for a while (say 20-30mins) pull up in my house, and then turn her off.. Go inside for 10mins then turn her on again, the idle will dip low... Anyway; the other suggestions of the idle control valve and temp sensors can also cause this; the PCV valve is really easy to actually look at, it sticks out of the Rocker Cover and connects to the air intake manifold (5S-FE); Im not sure about the 7A-FE or 3S-GTE): The Pipe Furthest to the left... Don't pull on it or anything, just look to see if it is cracked or damaged... Just a thought to consider...
