Hey guys, been awhile. Some of you might remember my car (it was Celica of the Month once!
![]() ![]() It was a lovely car, but only a 1.8 N/A so I got bored of it fairly quick. I bought an MR2 (non turbo) afterwards and a Supra MKIV (non turbo) shortly after that but something just felt off.. And I missed my Celica. ![]() So I bought another one.. This time a white 1994 ST205 Celica GTFour WRC model! ![]() ![]() It has a couple of mods, including a BC Racing coilover set, 18" Team Dynamics wheels, a Mongoose exhaust, a Blitz dumpvalve and an APEX'i AVC-R boostcontroller. Ofcourse I have some nice mods in mind, plan is to get her looking even better than the black one, so I'm already on the hunt for some epic wheels! Anyway, I'm picking her up in England this saturday so I'll update this post and start another project thread. I seriously cannot wait! |

What's the import law? 20 years? 25 for being able to get it titled legally, expect to see a lot of R32 Skylines soon. You can still import cars before then, but they can only be used for shows and such. There's a special kind of title of sorts for it, and it's eluding me at the moment. Otherwise all of the import meets wouldn't have the cars that they do. Ehh like Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld have a Porsche 959, that wasn't sold in the states, but it's a special thing. It's some kind of visa for the car that allows to be over here for displaying purposes. Could research it, but what's the point in buying a car that you can't even drive except for maybe events. I haven't really looked into it, but I'm also under the assumption a lot of people import cars from Canada. In Canada I think the import law is 15 years, and I know it's no more than 20. Anyhow people in the states will get a car titled in Canada via family/friend what have you or buy one already there and titled, then supposedly that makes it able to be titled in the United States without being 25 years old. Something about Canadian cars being similar to U.S. spec makes it easier. It also has a lot to do with each state. Alabama for example doesn't do a physical inspection of any sort for vehicle registration, so that'd make life easier for applying for a title. Then once it has an Alabama title it's legally titled in all 50, despite not having the same procedures as California might for example. Supposedly the easiest way of doing it is importing the car and having it titled as a kit car, rather or not that works who's to say. What a lot of people do(which I highly advise against) in our instances, where there was a USDM and more desirable JDM version is they get a titled USDM car and swap all of its VIN #s onto the JDM car. They then proceed with destroying the USDM car and pass off the JDM car as being legal. Any who, not to distract from the original topic too much... Have any plans yet for the car?
