The problem with our ST205 is that the flat 4 is mounted horizontally.
Ive heard of v6 implants but is it possible to do a V8? Think about it. Its about the same length as a straight 4, being 4 and 4 cyliners parallel just much wider meaning when mounted sideways, its fuller towards the fire wall and rad. So if so I could imagine relocating the rad further beyond the slam panel and it could work. Now what V8 made by toyota that can mate up with the E145 gearbox? QUOTE http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...%3AAAQ%3AUS%3A1 Hello, These kits have a few different spings, drill bits, & other micsellaneous parts that go in the valve body. This comes with 11 pages of instructions to make all of the modifications. All changes are just inside the pan, so it doesn't need to be out. Thanks, Hello, I'm new here and I have a 1993 Geo Prizm 7A-FE with the A245E transmission. I haven't found any good iinformation about that shift kit and someone suggested that I try asking about it here since I do have the same drivetrain as the '94 Celica and possibly some '95 Celicas. Does anyone here know anything about it or have any opinions? This summer I am due to drop my trans pan and clean the filter/magnets and check the clutch packs and bands, I plan on doing this along with the 120K timing belt and putting on a new waterpump (I'm not sure how long they typically last on the 7a-fe but better safe than sorry I would think). wow even you at one point asked for someones opinion This post has been edited by timdog1720: May 27, 2013 - 3:16 PM -------------------- Always fast and going for the look......

Who here has refreshed their timing belt and done transmission maintenance vs who here has put a V8 engine into a Celica? Let's see, I can count the latter on the hands of a quadruple amputee. Yes, I asked questions, but I also do my own homework before asking as to weed out the outlandish and infeasible. Let's look at Google shall we? https://www.google.com/search?q=V8+Celica&a...mp;channel=fflb Now narrow it down some more. https://www.google.com/search?num=100&c...erp.wHoVstBh1sI And see what happens there? If you read through the pages returned as results you begin to understand (for yourself) why choosing to put a V8 engine into a 6th generation Celica isn't a feasible project. Now, note that I say feasible and not impossible. There's the key difference. You say people like me are why this forum is dying? No, people like me are why it's not dying. Someone gets this grandiose idea, they start hacking stuff up, days turn to months, progress grinds to a halt, they quit and buy a different car. If you keep your expectations in the realm of feasibility you'll be much less disappointed by the outcome. Say you have dreams of making your USDM ST204 into a ST205, that's reasonable and feasible with the needed dedication, however how many actually fully go through with it? How many drop in the 3S-GTE and are satisfied with the results then sell it for an Evo or WRX? Setting your goals in the realm of the possible and feasible and then seeing your project through to the end are what keeps a car alive, not putting your head in the clouds and being forlorn when all you see are...clouds. Oh, and for the record I never did do the trans work or timing belt. I didn't have the time or money or balls to dive into the transmission when I owned the car and the timing belt was beyond my tool set at the time. If I still had the car as a second or third car I'd love to dump my time and effort into it, but sadly the uni-body near the rear suspension links was rotting away and then once the transmission began to slip into neutral I decided it was time to part ways. I'm very happy with my current Celica and thoroughly satisfied with the hours of love I have poured into the suspension. Devoting my time and a minor amount of money towards the car has for me been well worth it. I set a simple goal and followed through. Would I love to go nuts and do all sorts of things, yes I would. But I know if I set my self up to fail my own goals I'll become disenfranchised with the car and want to move onto something else.
