I hate to burst your bubble, but this isn't OBDII at all. Not even partially.
You're just monitoring the ECU inputs/outputs. You can do this with my 86 Cressida, or any car with an ECU. JDM ECUs are OBDI. Even a brand new 2013 car is still OBDI. OBDII is a completely different diagnostic system than OBDI. They're not compatible, and not translatable. OBDII is governed by US law with specific requirements that are different from OBDI. The codes are different, what the ECU looks for is different, the outputs are different, ect. You will never be able to hook up an OBDII code reader to an OBDI ECU and have it work. Plain and simple.
