Okay I need some input.. I have a 99 celica gt convertible 5sfe. Now it is getting built, I am wondering any thoughts! So here's the long story after I have done much research I kind of know what I can do now I'm not a big know it all or nothing but my research has led me to the 98+ 5sfe blocks are strong with thicker walls, now I'm putting forged pistons and rods in it, a st205 top end a st205 3sgte head swap now I know about the modifications, it can be taken care of but bottom end I feel that be strong, for top end with the swap and a st205 intake manifold or a grude head off andysautosport for 2g with a intake mani, that way the ports would be more open than the 5sfe I know top end and intake lack but ive researched alot with the bottom end and the 3sgte is a good motor but if you take the turbo away it puts you close to a stock 5sfe honestly, I have big plans for my celica so I plan to drop money in it and arp head studs with the swap for the head, then it's getting turboed with a ct26 until I build top end more but my celica is going to be a gt4 replica now I thought about the swap with the cheaper cost but I feel I would be better off with my bottom end withmodification just because I have a 98+ block for 5sfe with thicker walls there is a website showing pictures of the 98+ block compared to other engines including the 3sgte and it can with hold more power with modification that is, now my celica is going to have alot of the gt4 st205 3sgte parts including the seats, I was wondering about the awd conversion but it would be alot of work and modification but nothing is impossible. So in all I want to know thoughts, I plan on dumping money into this but if I forgot anything which I probably left out ill have to add in!

If I had time and money and didn't live in Cali. I'd go for a 5sgte build. 5sfe block with the gt4 3sgte head. Wander if you can put out more power than a 3sgte? Since the 5s can take a lot more beating and abusing than a 3s. Lol.

Okay so to clarify, I have a 98+ 5sfe block, which means I have reinforced flat block that has thicker walls and can withstand more. So with that said eagle rods and forged pistons by cp or arias or whatever it's called. The crank in the 5sfe already comes forged. 3sgte I would go backwards. Bottom end done. Now head, meaning gt 4 conversion, all I'm doing for the gt4 is the st205 3sgte, meaning st205 head swap (3sgte) 540cc injectors cams and valves. And intake manifold and I want gt4 seats I'm custom modifying my interior (I have the 8 speaker package). Now I can go get a 91-93 3sgte mr2 motor for 100 dollars right now and use the head and manifold if it would fit and the ct26 turbo, i dont know if it will fit the 98+ but when I get the bottom end and head done with bigger injectors and do alot of work I plan on running either a gt35 or 40 turbo but I'm curious to if the st205 will bolt on directly without modification since I have a 98+ 5sfe block I found a very useful sticky I will include a link to btw
