Do our cars have governer? Or anything in the ECU that tells the car to not preform as well as it should/could?

The factory speedo is not calibrated to read accurately over about 85 mph, and if you're running anything other than stock sized tires and wheels the accuracy is further thrown out the window. You're more likely doing 115-118 actual speed, not the 145 indicated. Verify with a GPS.

I had coolant steaming out of my engine when I did it, I never pushed it that far again after. Being my other car is about 400hp 145 is kind of normal being we live on back country roads with nothing around I don't go easy on any of my cars. My wife isn't even phased by it anymore it's funny. |
